Manual Lymphatic Drainage
Manual lymphatic drainage is a type of gentle massage which is intended to encourage the natural drainage of the lymph, which carries waste products away from the tissues back toward the heart. Manual massage for the lymphatic system can reduce blockages that reduce the flow of lymph fluid. This flow reduction can cause swelling to occur in the legs or arms and in the lymph nodes. By gently massaging the areas of the lymphatic system, blockages can be broken up. Lymph flow is improved, which reduces the retention and build-up of toxins in the body.
